Egypt & beyond
An Egypt and Jordan tour with us lasts 8 to 14 days. You start in Cairo, may add Luxor, a Nile cruise or Alexandria, then fly to Amman and drive south to Petra. Six of the seven trips include a night at a desert camp in Wadi Rum, three add the Dead Sea, and every trip ends in Amman. The flight to Amman is not included unless your quote lists it, and entry visas are not included.

All seven Egypt and Jordan trips follow the same simple shape. You arrive in Cairo, where someone meets you at the airport, and spend the first three nights in the city. The second day is always the big one: the pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure, the Great Sphinx and the Grand Egyptian Museum. Most trips then give a day to historic Cairo, with Al-Muizz Street and the lanes of Khan el-Khalili.
From there the routes differ. Some fly straight to Amman. Others first add Luxor, a Nile cruise or two nights in Alexandria. Once you land in Jordan, the order follows the map rather than doubling back: south to Petra, deeper into the desert at Wadi Rum, sometimes down to the Dead Sea, then north through Madaba and Mount Nebo to a last night in Amman. The trip ends where it naturally ends, in the Jordanian capital, and your departure transfer leaves from there.
The shortest trip is the 8-day Cairo, Petra and Wadi Rum tour: three nights in Cairo, two near Petra, one at a Wadi Rum desert camp and one in Amman. It gives each day one clear job.
Two trips last 10 days and add two hotel nights in Luxor: the Giza, Luxor and Petra tour and the Family Adventure. The 11-day Pyramids, Luxor and Dead Sea tour swaps Wadi Rum for two nights at a Dead Sea resort, with one full day kept free.
The 12-day Nile Cruise, Petra and Wadi Rum tour adds three nights on the river. The 13-day Alexandria, Petra and the Dead Sea tour turns north to the Mediterranean and gives Petra three nights. The 14-day Grand Egypt and Jordan tour combines a four-night Nile cruise with Petra, Wadi Rum and the Dead Sea.
Cairo is the base of every trip. Your guide takes you across the Giza Plateau and into the Grand Egyptian Museum on the same day, and the historic city follows on most routes. The family trip replaces that second city day with a gentler Cairo day planned around children, with breaks, a short walk in a historic quarter and an easy lunch.
Three trips fly south to Luxor for two hotel nights. You see Karnak and Luxor Temple on the East Bank, then cross to the West Bank for the Valley of the Kings and the terraced temple of Hatshepsut. Because Egypt is hotel-based on these routes, your dates are not tied to a cruise departure.
Two trips put you on the Nile. The 12-day tour flies to Aswan and sails three nights north past Kom Ombo and Edfu to Luxor; Philae is visited if the ship's program and arrival time allow. The 14-day tour sails four nights south from Luxor to Aswan and reaches Philae by boat. Sailings run on set days, so your quote matches your dates to a real departure. The 13-day tour instead spends two nights in Alexandria, with the Citadel of Qaitbay, the Corniche, the Catacombs of Kom el-Shoqafa and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
Every Egypt and Jordan trip crosses the border by air, with one flight to Amman. That flight is not included in the trip unless your quote lists it, and the same applies to the domestic flight to Luxor on the three Luxor routes and to the domestic flights of the two Nile cruise routes. International airfare to Cairo at the start and home from Amman at the end is not included either.
The crossing always gets a day of its own. From Luxor the flight to Amman may route through Cairo, so it is planned as a dedicated travel day, never squeezed between visits. On the two cruise routes you spend a hotel night in Cairo after leaving the ship, so the flight to Amman is never pressed against a disembarkation. On arrival in Jordan the drive south from Amman to Petra is part of the transfers in your program.
Petra is the heart of every trip. You enter on foot through the Siq, the narrow gorge that opens onto the Treasury, and continue into the Nabataean city beyond. Six trips spend two nights near Petra. The 13-day tour spends three, which gives you a second full day for the long climb toward the Monastery, or for slower exploring if you prefer.
Six of the seven trips include a night at a desert camp in Wadi Rum, a protected landscape of sandstone mountains, with a desert excursion run by an authorized local operator. The standard of the camp is confirmed in your quote.
Three trips add the Dead Sea, the lowest point on land. The 11-day tour gives it two nights at a resort, with one day kept free for floating and rest. The 13-day and 14-day tours spend one night beside the water. Spa treatments are not included.
Five trips finish with the drive north through Madaba, known for its mosaic map, and Mount Nebo, with its view over the Jordan Valley, on the way to a final night in Amman. The two 10-day trips spend their last full day on Amman's culture instead, before a relaxed evening in the city. Either way, the last night in Jordan is a calm one, and the airport transfer the next day is part of your program, with meet and assist on departure.
The 10-day Egypt and Jordan Family Adventure is built around what a family will actually enjoy. Guides adjust their explanations to the ages in your group, long travel days are kept light on sightseeing, and a slower Cairo day replaces the busier city program. In Luxor you go underground into a royal tomb and rest in the afternoon. In Petra you walk the Siq together and continue only as far as small legs allow, then trade stone for sand at the Wadi Rum camp. Family rooming, camp facilities, walking demands and any age limits for activities are confirmed in your quote.
Each trip includes meet and assist on arrival in Cairo and on departure from Amman, the airport and land transfers described in the itinerary, the hotel nights listed for that trip and the guided visits named in the day-by-day program. Local guides lead the visits in Egypt and in Jordan; on the two Nile cruise routes your guides in Egypt are Egyptologists. Meals are as set out in your confirmed quote.
Not included on any of the seven: international airfare, entry visas for Egypt and Jordan, gratuities for guides, drivers and camp staff, travel insurance and personal expenses. Optional extras such as pyramid interiors, special tombs, camel rides and longer Petra trails are not included either. The 14-day tour does not include Abu Simbel; adding it needs a revised schedule.
Choose the trip closest to what you want, or tell us how many days you have and what matters most, and request a quote. A planner replies within 24 hours with an itinerary for your dates, the hotels, the meals and a clear list of which flights are included. If you want a cruise trip, the planner matches your dates to a real sailing first. Your planner can also adjust a route, for example by adding a night, and the quote shows the change.
Not unless your quote lists it. Every one of the seven trips flies from Egypt to Amman, and each trip states that this flight is excluded unless the quote includes it. International airfare to Cairo and home from Amman is not included.
Entry visas for Egypt and for Jordan are not included in any of our Egypt and Jordan trips. Entry rules depend on your passport and can change, so please check the official source before you travel.
Six trips spend two nights near Petra, with a full day in the city. The 13-day Alexandria, Petra and Dead Sea tour spends three nights, which adds a second day for the Monastery trail or a slower look at the site.
Six of the seven: the 8-day, both 10-day, the 12-day, the 13-day and the 14-day tours. Each includes one night at a desert camp and a desert excursion with an authorized local operator. The 11-day tour spends its desert time at the Dead Sea instead.
Yes. The 12-day tour sails three nights from Aswan to Luxor, and the 14-day tour sails four nights from Luxor to Aswan. Both add a hotel night in Cairo after the cruise before the flight to Amman.
All seven end in Amman. The last day is a farewell and airport transfer, with meet and assist on departure, so you fly home from Jordan rather than returning to Egypt.
Three do. The 11-day tour spends two nights at a Dead Sea resort with one free day, and the 13-day and 14-day tours spend one night beside the Dead Sea. Spa treatments are extra.
The 10-day Family Adventure. Guides adapt to children, the Cairo program is gentler, and family rooming, camp facilities and any age limits are confirmed in your quote.
