What You Will See & Do
11-Day Egypt and Jordan Tour Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival in Cairo
Arrive at Cairo International Airport where one of our representatives will be waiting to pick you up and transfer you to your hotel in Cairo. Upon arrival, check-in and settle in to your accommodations, and prepare to take your flight to Luxor tomorrow morning where you will embark on your Nile river cruise.

Day 2 – Luxor
After breakfast, check out of your hotel and transfer to the airport. Upon arrival at Cairo Airport, board a flight to Luxor, where the next chapter of your adventure begins. Arriving in Luxor, you’ll be warmly welcomed aboard your luxurious cruise ship, and as you settle in, take a moment to soak in the breathtaking views from the deck before indulging in a delightful onboard meal.
Afterwards, prepare for your first excursion with a visit to the awe-inspiring Luxor Temple. Dating back to the reigns of Amenhotep III and Ramses II, this temple is steeped in history and has witnessed countless ceremonies and celebrations over the millennia.
Next, you’ll continue to the magnificent Karnak Temple, one of Egypt’s most celebrated temple complexes with origins dating back to 1928 BC. Immerse yourself in the grandeur of these ancient wonders as you wander through colossal columns, towering pylons, and intricately adorned halls.

Day 3 – Edfu
After breakfast, journey to the Valley of the Kings, where the tombs of legendary pharaohs like Seti I, Tutankhamen, and Ramses the Great await your discovery. Continue your adventure to the nearby Valley of the Queens, where you’ll pay homage to the only female pharaoh, Hatshepsut, at her magnificent mortuary temple.
Then, as the day unfolds, board your cruise ship bound for Edfu, where you’ll be treated to a leisurely afternoon tea on deck. For the adventurous at heart, don’t miss the chance to soar above the valley in a hot air balloon at sunrise before breakfast, taking in breathtaking views of Egypt’s ancient landscape from a unique vantage point (this is an optional activity for an additional fee).

Day 4 – Luxor – Edfu – Kom Ombo – Aswan
Begin your day with a journey back in time as you explore the Temple of Edfu, a majestic ode to the gods Horus and Seth. Delve into the intricate carvings and towering columns of this ancient sanctuary, guided by the expertise of your Egyptologist guide.
Afterwards, continue your Nile voyage to Kom Ombo, indulging in a delightful lunch onboard while soaking in the scenic views. Upon arrival, step ashore to discover the fascinating Kom Ombo Temple complex, dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon-headed god Haroeris. As the sun sets, immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of Egypt with an onboard Egyptian Galabeya Party, dancing to traditional music and sailing towards Aswan.

Day 5 – Aswan
As you arrive in Aswan, prepare to set your sights on the Aswan High Dam, the modern marvel of engineering that regulates the flow of the mighty Nile River and provides essential hydroelectric power to Egypt. Afterwards, embark on a motorboat journey to the picturesque Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis. As you glide across the tranquil waters, take in the breathtaking views of the temple’s ornate façade rising majestically from its island sanctuary. Explore the temple’s legends and history, admiring its exquisite reliefs and hieroglyphs that offer insights into ancient Egyptian mythology and religious practices. Day 6 – Aswan – Cairo
After breakfast, disembark your Nile cruise ship and take a transfer to the airport where you will board a flight back to Cairo. You also have the option of taking a morning excursion before breakfast to visit Abu Simbel.
Upon arrival in Cairo you can spend the rest of the day at your own leisure, or take advantage of doing some additional sightseeing.

Day 7 – Cairo
Today, you will discover the iconic Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx, each forming part of the designated UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979. The Great Pyramid of Cheops is renowned as one of the Seven Wonders of the World and ponders over the Sphinx that stands watch over the pyramids.
Then, continue your exploration with a visit to the renowned Egyptian Museum, home to an unparalleled collection of artifacts spanning millennia of Egyptian history. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to marvel at relics such as the treasures of King Tutankhamen, including his famed golden mask, as well as countless other artifacts that offer insights into the rich tapestry of Egypt’s past. Day 8 – Cairo – Amman
Bid farewell to Egypt and travel to Amman, Jordan. Upon arrival at Queen Alia International Airport, transfer to your hotel for overnight stay.

Day 9 – Amman – Wadi Rum – Petra
After breakfast, get ready for a thrilling 2-hour Jeep tour across the captivating Wadi Rum desert. As you traverse the rugged terrain, marvel at the unique rock formations that have been sculpted by millennia of wind and weather. Along the way, pause for a moment to take in the tranquility of the desert as you enjoy traditional Bedouin tea.
Afterwards, continue on to Petra, the legendary ancient Nabatean city nestled amidst the rose-red sandstone cliffs. As you approach this UNESCO World Heritage Site, let the sense of awe wash over you, knowing that you are about to set foot in one of the world’s most iconic archaeological wonders. Follow in the footsteps of ancient traders and explorers as you wind your way through the narrow Siq, a natural canyon flanked by towering cliffs that gradually reveals the majestic Treasury, Petra’s most celebrated facade.

Day 10 – Petra – Amman
Today’s excursion takes you to explore the wonders of Petra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site steeped in history and mystery. Stroll through the narrow Siq and marvel at the iconic Treasury, carved into the rose-red cliffs by the ancient Nabateans. Explore the various temples, tombs, and facades that dot the landscape, each telling a story of Petra’s rich cultural heritage. From the imposing Royal Tombs to the majestic Monastery, you’ll be left awestruck by the beauty and grandeur of this ancient city. After a day of exploration, transfer back to your hotel in Amman for an overnight stay.
