Giza and the Grand Egyptian Museum, then both banks of Luxor by air
This is a 3-day, 2-night private package covering the Giza Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum on Day 1 and a same-day round trip by air to Luxor on Day 2 for the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut's temple, the Colossi of Memnon, Karnak and Luxor Temple. It suits travelers on a tight schedule who are comfortable with an early start and a long day in exchange for seeing Egypt's two greatest historic areas.
Three days is all some travelers have for Egypt, whether on a stopover or at the end of a business trip, and this package spends that time on the two places that matter most. Day one covers Giza and the Grand Egyptian Museum. Day two flies you south to Luxor and back again, packing the core of ancient Thebes into a single guided day.
In Luxor you see both sides of the river. On the West Bank you walk into painted royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings, stand beneath Hatshepsut's terraced temple at Deir el-Bahari, and stop at the Colossi of Memnon. After lunch you cross to the East Bank for Karnak, with its forest of 134 columns in the Great Hypostyle Hall, and finish at Luxor Temple on the riverside corniche.
This is not a slow trip, and it does not pretend to be. Round-trip flights, private transfers and licensed Egyptologist guides in both cities keep the pace manageable, and the final morning is free before your departure.

A same-day flight to Luxor means you skip neither city.

Round-trip domestic flights between Cairo and Luxor are included.

The West Bank tombs and East Bank temples are covered in sequence.

Licensed Egyptologists lead you in Cairo and again in Luxor.

After breakfast a private vehicle takes you to the Giza Plateau, where the pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure stand at the edge of the desert. Your Egyptologist explains the construction techniques and religious ideas behind these 4,500-year-old tombs: how the stone was cut and moved, why the sides line up so precisely with the cardinal points, and what the king expected to find in the afterlife. Take a moment at the base of the Great Pyramid to gauge the size of the blocks, many of them as tall as a child.
You then continue to the Great Sphinx, carved from a single limestone outcrop at the foot of the plateau, where your guide talks through the questions that still surround its face and its date.
Next comes the Grand Egyptian Museum, the largest archaeological museum in the world dedicated to a single civilization. The full Tutankhamun collection is shown here together, from the gold mask and coffins to chariots, beds, sandals and board games. You climb the grand staircase lined with statues of kings and gods, then tour the Tutankhamun galleries with your guide.
Lunch is at a local restaurant during the day. You return to your hotel by evening and should turn in early, since tomorrow's pickup is very early.
Breakfast and lunch are included.

You are collected early from your hotel and driven to Cairo International Airport for the short morning flight to Luxor. Your Luxor-based guide meets you on arrival, and the day begins on the West Bank.
First is the Valley of the Kings, where New Kingdom pharaohs, Tutankhamun among them, were buried in tombs cut deep into the hills. The corridors are painted with texts meant to guide the king through the underworld, and in several tombs the colors still look fresh. Standard entry typically covers three tombs; Tutankhamun's tomb can be added at extra cost. Next is the Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari, a terraced temple set against the cliffs and built for one of Egypt's few female pharaohs, followed by a photo stop at the Colossi of Memnon, two giant seated statues that once guarded a temple of Amenhotep III.
After lunch at a local restaurant you cross to the East Bank for Karnak, the largest religious complex built in the ancient world, where the Great Hypostyle Hall holds 134 massive columns. A short visit to Luxor Temple, set on the Nile corniche and floodlit after sunset, follows.
In the evening you are transferred to Luxor Airport for the flight back to Cairo, landing late. Breakfast and lunch are included; carry water and sun protection, and leave your main luggage at the Cairo hotel.

After breakfast you have free time until your flight, depending on its schedule. After the long Luxor day, a slow morning is welcome: sleep in a little, linger over breakfast, or take a short walk near your hotel.
Your private driver collects you at the agreed time for the transfer to Cairo International Airport. The timing allows for Cairo traffic and check-in, so you arrive without rushing. Plan to reach the airport about three hours before an international departure; security checks start at the terminal entrance and continue before the gates.
If your flight leaves in the evening, ask your hotel in advance about late checkout or luggage storage, which hotels can usually arrange directly.
In just two touring days you have seen the pyramids and the Sphinx, the full Tutankhamun collection, the royal tombs and terraced temple of Luxor's West Bank, and the great temples of Karnak and Luxor on the East Bank.
Breakfast is included today.

October to April is the most comfortable window for this trip. Even then, the West Bank and Karnak can be hot by midday, so carry water and a hat on the Luxor day.
Wear breathable clothes and comfortable closed shoes for sand, stone and tomb corridors. Sunglasses and a wide-brimmed hat help at Giza and on Luxor's West Bank, where shade is scarce.
The pace is active. Day 1 is a full day on your feet at Giza and in the museum, and Day 2 involves a lot of walking in the heat of the West Bank and Karnak.
Round-trip domestic flights are included: Cairo to Luxor on the morning of Day 2 and back to Cairo that evening. Your private driver collects you early for the airport.
The Egypt entry visa is not included. Entry rules depend on your passport and can change, so please check the official source before you travel.
Hotels accept cards, but carry cash for tips, drinks and souvenirs. Entry to Tutankhamun's tomb and camel or horse rides are optional and paid locally; gratuities for guides and drivers are not included.
Very early, because you take a morning flight from Cairo to Luxor and return on an evening flight the same day. Your guide confirms the exact pickup time the day before, based on the flight schedule.
Yes. Round-trip domestic flights between Cairo and Luxor are included, along with all airport transfers in a private air-conditioned vehicle. International flights to and from Egypt are not included.
Yes, as an optional extra paid locally. Standard Valley of the Kings entry typically covers three tombs, and Tutankhamun's tomb needs a separate ticket.
Only a daypack. You return to the same Cairo hotel that night, so leave your main luggage there and carry your passport, water, sunscreen, a hat and a light layer for the plane. Keep your boarding documents handy, as airport security checks your ID on both flights.
It can work for older children who cope well with early starts and long days, but the Luxor day is demanding for young kids. The flights themselves are short, and most children enjoy the scale of Karnak and the painted tombs. Arrangements for children are confirmed in your quote.
Light, breathable clothing that covers your shoulders, comfortable closed shoes and a hat. The West Bank and Karnak have little shade, and summer temperatures in Luxor are very high. Sunglasses and a refillable bottle make the West Bank far more comfortable.
The itinerary starts with touring after breakfast on Day 1, and all airport and touring transfers are by private vehicle. Share your arrival flight when you book, and the arrival arrangements and any extra night needed are confirmed in your quote.
The price depends on your dates, group size, hotel category and flight availability, so it is confirmed in a personal quote. The quote also sets out the hotel, the flight times and the payment terms.
